This week, Cheeky Little Matinee turned one!
My first post went live on September 1st - the day that Hogwarts opened its doors, and Veronica started her diary in 1989. Could it have been more fitting?
The last 365 days have involved a hop over to Broadway on a trip of a lifetime with my sister, some memorable trips to the West End with family and friends, a fun filled panto season, multiple press night flutes of Prosecco to celebrate tours of iconic shows, tap shoes and feather boas with Strictly 2019, Fringe previews and exciting new works, good old chinwags with the powerhouses that star on and off stage, behind the scenes tours, a press night at the first Phantom of the Opera tour... and finally a global pandemic.
Wow, way to put a downer on things, 'Rona!
Fear not, away from our beloved venues I have enjoyed streamed shows and organised viewing parties to really go hashtag extra, rejuvenating my wardrobe to channel my inner theatre-nerd (then doing the same with my home decor), collating playlists for runs and parties, and writing love letters to shows I miss.
Leading us here, to my 40th post.
